Closed Cell Structure
99.8% closed cell Thermefirm® Cross-linked PE foam is produced as a continuous sheet resulting in a foam product with uniform and very small closed cells formed with smooth surfaces on both sides. A higher closed cell content corresponds to double benefit as a combination of the most flexible material with consistently high insulating effect and resistance to moisture permeation. |

Consistent Thermal Performance
Thernal Conductivity: 0.032 W / m.K (at 23°C mean temperature)
Thermefirm® has consistent thermal performance lasting for several years. The main reasons for such consistency are: a) being most impervious to moisture; b) having highest structural integrity holding cells in shape; c) resistance to cuts, abrasions and cracks; d) resistance to most chemicals; e) resistance to dust particles. Most other insulation materials physically degrade and lose their resistance value within a decade and some even within a couple of years after installation. |

Lightest in Weight for the given R(Resistance to heat transfer)Value Density: 24-29 kg/m3 For closed cell polyolefin foam materials, the R value increases as the density decreases in HVAC operating temperature range, unlike other fibrous insulation materials. Hence, use of Thermefirm® can reduce the loading on ductwork and building structure by 30-50% due to its low weight. Whereas, for most other insulations, higher density materials must be used leading to higher loading on the structure. |

High Moisture Resistance & Good Condensation Control Water Vapour Permeance (ASTM E96) : 4.27 ng / Pa-s-m2 Water Vapour Permeability (ASTM E96) : 4.9 X 10-14 kg / Pa-s-m Thermefirm® has excellent moisture resistance. Moisture always travels from a zone of high vapour pressure to a zone of low vapour pressure. A humid zone is under high vapour pressure, whereas cold metal surfaces tend to pull in moisture from surrounding humid air. This can lead to a high rate of moisture permeation through open cell insulation materials or through the cracks even in some of the closed cell materials. Thermefirm® with its closed cell structure has multiple cell encasings, acting as a positive barrier to moisture with virtually zero ingression. Thermefirm®, thus prevents corrosion of metal surface and as well as from creating moist breeding spaces, which could lead to growth of mold, bacteria, etc. |

High Fire Retardancy BS 476: PART 6 - FIRE PROPAGATION TEST BS 476: PART 7- SURFACE SPREAD OF FLAME Thermefirm® insulation is specifically developed through several years of Research and Development by a team of highly qualified chemical engineers and irradiation specialists. Utmost care has been taken to control the material's fire retardant properties. This is provided by the special environment friendly flame retardant additives blended with the raw material during the compounding stage. |

Thermefirm® has a very low fire propagation property as well as low surface flame spread. This fact is assured by the conformity of Thermefirm® to the tests conducted in accordance to the British Standards (BS 476: Part 6 and Part 7). |
|
Flexibility to suit most shapes and Compatibility with various materials Thermefirm®, the polyolefin insulation is flexible hence can be easily wrapped around most contoured surfaces. This helps in saving installation time and labour costs. (Rigid materials require specially cut pieces to match each and every surface of the duct.) Thermefirm® is compatible wih virtually all metal that are used in ducts, pipes and most equipment. |

Impervious to Mildews, Mold, Rot, and Bacteria Thermefirm®, the polyolefin material has neither nutrient value nor allows moisture to stagnate on surface or inside the core material. This discourages bacteria for breeding space. Hence it is free from fungal, bacterial and mold growth
